Ortolan

The Ortolan (Emberiza hortulana) is a songbird native to western Eurasia. I just discovered that these birds are captured, fattened, drowned in brandy, plucked, roasted, and consumed whole (bones and all) in some places. This Telegraph article describes it. Very strange.
